Hello,

i have 2 profiles for the backend backup.

The first is the default profile for the normal backup in the joomla backup. The output directory is '[SITEROOT]administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup'.

The second profile is for the cronjob cli-backup. I want to change the output directory so that the permissions are correct. But i can't change the output directory. It should change to '[ROOTPARENT]/akeeba_backup'. The configuration it is not saved.

I change the output directory over the directory icon in the right. Afte click the button 'use it' is the output directory well and the akeeba-backup.php work well. if I now save the configuration and open it again, '/var/www/htdocs//administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup' is displayed as the output directory. And the akeeba-backup.php don't work.

Hello,

Akeeba Backup falls back to the default output directory if the one you set is not writable or has the wrong permissions.
Can you please double check that the directory [ROOTPARENT]/akeeba_backup really exists and has the correct setup?

Problem solved!
The cronjob is executed as 'admin'. Therefore I had given the directory ' [ROOTPARENT]/akeeba_backup' only for this user rights. But also the user 'www-data' needs full rights for this directory, because otherwise the files 'akeeba-backend.log' and 'akeeba.log' will be written.
If these rights for 'www-data' are not available, the directory will not be taken over.

Right?

That's correct.
Akeeba Backup will run several tests on the output directory, if it detects that it can't use it for a backup, it will fall back to the default one.
