Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Akeeba backup is failing with error message "Call to member function recommendsBreakBefore() on bool '

I just filed a support ticket about my error, with attached Akeeba log file and screenshot of the error message and recommendation to file support ticket, but I can't find it in my support tickets. So I'm trying again.

(And now the third to file a support ticket: I attached two Akeeba .log files, maybe the PNG of my screenshot is not allowed? Maybe the short .log file is not allowed? Oh, you want us to ZIP the log file first! Here's the screenshot in my Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8u1l1xuioiazn2t/backup-fail-latest.png?dl=0 . Maybe I didn't notice the error message after the first try: This file type is not supported)

The log file and screenshot I'll provide were for Joomla core version 3.9.14. I've since managed to update Joomla to 3.9.15 and try another backup, but it still failed with the same error message.

Website is https://jjs.elizapro.com, a development website hosted at InMotion Hosting.

Sincerely,
Carol Mattsson

Hello,

the log was helpful, but I'd more details.
Please get inside your Akeeba Backup configuration profile and set the log level to "All info and debug messages".
Then run again the backup, it should fail again.

Take the log file, zip it and attach it here.
In this way I'll have a clue on what's failing and where.

Hi Davide,

Well, there's bad news and good news. This morning I changed log level to "All Information and Debug" and tried the backup again. This time it worked fine! That was the only change I made. Maybe something changed overnight at the InMotion Hosting web server?

I can give you access to the full debug log if you still want to see it.

What I did next was, at a website on the same server, same template (Protostar) and PHP version, I updated the extensions including Akeeba and noted Joomla core was at version 3.9.14. Akeeba Backup ran fine just then. That is, these settings matched the configuration of the jjs.elizapro.com website in question. Even after updating Joomla core to 3.9.15, the Akeeba backup still worked.

So I can't repeat the problem. I'm OK with you letting it go for now.

Thanks for your help.
Carol
