Hi Overthere,
we do Frontend-Backup for month now but since a few weeks it seems to be broken and the external cron-log is telling me "Error 403 - Access denied".

At first I thought that the webhoster may have been reconfiguring their security but that wasn't the case.

Searched the support here and stumbled upon "Joomla update sometimes breaks component settings" but that wasn't it neither.

Do you have any idea in which direction to investigate further?

All the best,
Ralf

Hello,

first of all, let's double check some common issues:

- Are you using Akeeba Backup Core or Pro?
- Can you please double check that the frontend secret word is correct?

Frontend backups have been moved inside the Pro version, starting from Akeeba Backup 7.
You can read the full announcement here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/news/1726-akeeba-backup-7.html

Grrr... would have been nice if that wouldn't only be published in the beta-announcement 'cause it breaks the core-functionality of my staged automated backups.

Don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with owning a subscription 'cause I find it very fair priced. My problem is that I didn't know what was going on. A notification by mail, in the log and/or in the backend would've saved me some hassle here. Please consider such a notification for future changes.

One more thing: Do I understand correctly this isn't only concerning the Joomla-Version but also the one for Wordpress?

Yes, you got it right: such changes are affecting all our products, Akeeba Backup for Joomla, Akeeba Backup for WordPress and Akeeba Solo.
