My PayPal bill says:

Your total is US$38.32 every 3 months after 365 days

It was suppose to be only $9 every 3 months after 365 days

Whats going on?

It's PayPal giving misleading information (a bug in PayPal's system).

The $38.32 is the price you paid for the initial period (first year). From that point onwards it is indeed $9 per month.

This is a really big PayPal bug regarding the information displayed for recurring subscriptions with a different initial period pricing, even though they've supported a different initial period pricing for at least the past 10 years. Unfortunately, PayPal doesn't care to fix it.

So now you are telling me that it is $9 every month after 365 days?

That comes to $108 per year!!!!

What's going on?

And you need to fix your PayPal settings as we use PayPal all the time and do not have this issue with anyone else. PayPal states it is not their bug and to contact you.

Since July 1st, 2019 Akeeba Ltd does not sell products directly to end users. All sales are performed through our authorized reseller, Paddle.

Paddle handles billing and invoicing. They are responsible for figuring out sales tax applicability and amount, take your money and issue the corresponding invoice for your order.

Akeeba Ltd only fulfills the order. This means that we only provide software downloads and support. We do not handle billing or invoicing.

In my previous message I did give you wrong information. You paid $38.32 one-time fee for the first year of your subscription (until February 7th, 2021 19:29 Eastern European Time). One day before that and unless you explicitly cancel the recurring subscription with our reseller (Paddle Ltd) you will be charged $9.00. This will repeat every 3 months until you cancel the recurring subscription with our reseller (Paddle Ltd) at least 48 hours before the billing date. This ends up being $36 per year, not $108. We would of course not sell a recurring subscription that's substantially more expensive than the one-off payment.

Regarding the PayPal issue please note that we (Akeeba Ltd) do not have an integration with PayPal at all. As I explained and as you already know (through the text on our site, our Terms of Service, the text on the payment overlay managed by Paddle, our email communication and the email communication you received from Paddle as well as me explicitly telling you again now) it's Paddle that handles all aspects from the sales including collecting the payments.

If you think that the problem is with them and not PayPal please contact Paddle directly at [email protected] -- please make sure to mention your invoice number. I need you to do that because I obviously have access neither to your PayPal account nor the email or other communication you received from PayPal. My third-hand recount of what transpired would be completely useless for the purposes of discovering if anything is set up incorrectly, let alone fix it. You would be best poised to provide the pertinent information and they are very keen to be assistance, so please do contact them.
