Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I am a newbie and I have read the documentation. I have also looked at the videos to no avail.
I cannot restore files from a backup for I get an error of "invalid login" I am using the super user account and I have checked the permissions.
I am restoring on a local WAMP server.
Can you tell me what is causing the error of invalid login? I am writing directly to the files.
I have not downloaded the backup for your script does not allow me to change the location from download so I cannot get it to a separate folder with the kickstart program in it, which I have set up.
I cannot upload the log file for the file is 23MB and I do not have an external server for you to link to.

I just purchased the pro version so that I can have support.
I know how to run backup systems for standard network computers and files as well as restore. This is my first with web files though.

Thank you for your help

We don't need the log at this point. The log file tells me about the backup, but at this point the problem appears to be restore related.

You should put your backup archive and kickstart.php (renamed if you're using the Pro version) in the root of your WAMP server. Next you call kickstart.php in your browser address bar, something like localhost/kickstart.php. Kickstart extracts the files from the archive and passes control to ANGIE, the restore script, which was inside the archive. ANGIE will restore the database (along with other stuff). I think that may be where we're going wrong. The only login along here would be the login to MySQL. You need to manually create the database and user before you start the restore process. ANGIE normally does not have sufficient rights to create a database, only to restore tables and data to an existing database. You might get a login error if your database didn't exist or if you didn't provide the correct login details on the screen when prompted.
