Hi,

Akeeba pro wouldn't t update automatically on one of my sites so I have just downloaded Akeeba Backup and admin tools latest versions and they have downloaded as folders and not .zip files.

Is there a new way of updating the components?

Hello,

I'm sorry, can you please be more precise with your issue?
Update method has not changed in the last 5 years: if your site can't download the package, it means that your Download ID is not correct (or your site is caching the wrong Download ID value).
Components are always delivered as ZIP files, maybe your operating system will let you inspect them as folders?

Hi David,

I can assure you my ID is correct and I have been utilising Akeeba for past 5 years.

When I am downloading the latest version to my downloads folder it arrives as a folder and not a zip. Please see attached

That's a Safari feature.
Please hit CMD-comma first tab all the way down, uncheck "Automatically open safe file types".
Otherwise Safari will automatically extract the ZIP into a folder and delete the ZIP file.
