Description of my issue: I updated Joomla from 3.9.4 and got this error from Akeebabackup. "Database Tables are Corrupt".
It happened also on a subdomain but reinstalling a component caused Akeebabackup to start again and the problem went away.

HOWEVER: on the main site, the error would not go away after trying to restart ABackup 3x.
I read that I should reinstall ABackup but that I would loose my configurations.

INSTEAD, I ran the database "repair & optimize tables" tool from Admin Tools, and the problem was fixed. ABackup worked again with no error.

Sounds like your MySQL database blew up. I'm glad that Admin Tools helped you fix it :)

Happy Easter!

Greetings.
Yet another database error.
I've been getting these for the last 2 updates.
(Don't know if it's the Joomla recent updates causing the problem.)
I can't update Akeeba products thru the Joomla Update system. I have to download and install per drag-and-drop.
" Please try accessing Akeeba Backup again " doesn't fix the problem.
This time I used Admin-Tools again to repair-optmize tables. It took a bit longer than usual.

Oops! Your Akeeba Backup database tables are corrupt.

Akeeba Backup has detected that its database tables were missing or corrupt and attempted to fix this issue automatically. Please try accessing Akeeba Backup again; this error message should go away and Akeeba Backup should load without a problem. If this message appears again please contact your host and ask them to check the integrity of your database and the permissions of your database user (it needs to be able to create and modify database tables)."

Now just installed Admin Tools 5.3.1-pro and got this error.
The update WAS, however, installed.
