If I understand Akeeba's SIte Transfer wizard properly I am wondering if I could use it in a different way than most would think to use it.

I have a site that we want to have a the ability to switch to a backup server if the primary server goes down for some reason. Cloudflare provides the DNS failover switching, but I need a way to back the site up to the secondary hosting account, copy over the database, and have it ready to go at a moments notice if the main server goes down.

Couldn't I do this with the Site Transfer Wizard? If I set it up to backup the site every 12 hours or something like that?

Akeeba Staff
Hello,

do you have CLI access on the failover server? If so, I can suggest you to take a look at Akeeba UNiTE, it automatically performs backup and restoration without human interaction.
