Backup configuration -> Post-processing engine -> Upload to remote FTP server using cURL -> configure -> Test settings:

AJAX Error
An error has occurred while waiting for an AJAX response:

Hello,

this means that the connection between the two servers is blocked.
The remote FTP server is a "real" server or it's something like a NAS?

Can you please try to use the FTP engine without cURL?
Can you please try to toggle the flag USe passive mode?

Hi Davide,

The connection itself is not the problem. All ours sites are backed up to the same FTP server and are working OK. I just tested it on one of our sites. The backup was done OK, I was transferred to the FTP server. But when testing the connection in the configuration we now see this error:

cURL Error 67 connecting to remote FTP server: Access denied: 504

It's a different error, but in both cases the FTP test fails, but the actual backup transfers work OK.

This is not a big issue for us, but it is a bit weird that the test fails and the actual backup works OK don't you think?

That's because the "Test FTP connection" tries to create a dummy connection to the remote server. Usually it works fine (if it works, it should work during backup, too), but FTP protocol is heavily filtered by hosts company, so sometimes you could get a false positive.

Ok, so testing with this button won't be possible for us anymore. We will just need to run a backup to see if things work. That's not a big deal for us. We know the FTP works fine and it is set up similar on all our sites.
Thanks for you info.
