Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I installed Akeeba 6.2.1 on my site and made a fresh backup. I downloaded and extracted Kickstart 5.5.0. I then uploaded the backup-JPA-file and kickstart.php to the server. When i access kickstart.php via browser i get a page titled 'Akeeba Kickstart Core 5.5.0', but whatever butten i click, nothing happens. Whether i do this on a local XAMPP-server or a online-server leads to the same result.

When i use Akeeba eXtract Wizard to extract the JPA-file, upload the extracted files and try to start the installation, i get a long page full of PHP-warnings and -errors. No action is possible from there. This also happens on XAMPP and online.

Please access the log-file here: https://test.atelier-neukom.ch/pfaller/akeeba.backend.id12.log

So i'm stuck. What can i do?

Regards
Daniel

Hello,

you have a two part issue, both affecting translation strings.
Regarding Kickstart, please use the previous version that you can find here.
Regarding ANGIE, you have to update to the latest available version and take a new backup. This will include the updated installer with the correct language strings inside the backup archive.

If you can't take another backup, there's a workaround for that, but it's a little complicated so let's try the easy path first.

Hi and thank you very much.

Do i update ANGIE by installing the latest version of Akeeba? I already did install 6.2.1 which is the latest release, i think. Or is it something else i have to do?

Yes, you update ANGIE by installing the new version of Akeeba Backup.
However ANGIE is stored inside your backup archive when you take a backup. This means that if you want to use the new version of ANGIE you'll have to take another backup. Installing the new version of Akeeba Backup won't update the installation script already stored in previous backups.

Thank you. The restoring process on the webserver with Kickstart ist now working fine. I'm still having troubles trying to extract a backup with the eXtract Wizard, but that's not important anymore, as Kickstart is workin.
