Description of my issue:

i receive an error when trying to backup.
it advised me to save it as a PDF and submit a ticket.

i had an error a few weeks ago during an update, and had to restore the whole site from a previous backup (via the host).
since then, i am able to complete a auto-config, but not a backup.
i am nervous to attempt much because this is a live site!

please advise!

The FOF error suggests a bad upgrade. Sometimes installing Akeeba Backup twice in a row will fix the issue. You can try that, and it may work, but the FOF library depends on other Akeeba extensions, which complicates the fix.

The sure way to fix it is:
  • Download a copy of one of our components, e.g. Akeeba Backup.
  • Extract it.
  • Find the lib_fof30.zip file.
  • Extract it.
  • Rename the extracted folder fof to fof30.
  • Upload the fof30 folder into your site's libraries folder so now you have a libraries/fof30 folder.

Note that your site has both an fof and an fof30 folder within /libraries. Don't mix them up, you are trying to repair fof30.

thank you so much for your reply!

i logged in to grab a recent copy of akeeba backup, and saw there was a new version.
so i went ahead and installed it twice, as you suggest.

ran a config wizzard, and just completed a backup!
eveything seems to be working smoothly.

i'm currently downloading my newest back up copy and very appreciative of your advice!

i'll update admin tools next, to it's newest version.
