Hi,

I tried to exclude subdirectories with name "source" from backup, but it did not work.

this is an example of the directory tree: /media/showtime/storage/2018/01/19/28/source

this is the filter string I have used: #^media/showtime/(.*)source$# (type: "Skip Subdirectories")

Can you please assist me?

thanks
JO

Hello,

I think your regex is correct, can you please remove the ^ from your regular expression?
That should do the trick.

I ran some tests and the filter you have created does work and excludes the subdirectories (but not the files) of the media/showtime/....../source directory.

I believe that you are trying to exclude the entire "source" directories, i.e. both their files and their contents. You should change the type of the filter to "Exclude directory" instead. The "source" directories will not appear in the backup, at all.

If, however, you want to include the "source" directory but not its files or filters -in other words, an empty directory- you need to create two identical filters, one Exclude Subdirectories and one Exclude Contents.

Hi Davide,
thanks very much, by changing the type of the filter to "Exclude directory" it worked!
