Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hello support team,

first, the default backup profile is working well. I have a second profile, which is uploading the backup to my FTP server. Everything was fine during the last yearss. Now I had to change the PHP Version of the server from 5.6 to 7.1. So I get an Error 500 when I want to upload the backup file via FTP. My provider gives me a maxium execution time of 240s. So I tried to chance the execution time, but without succes. Any ideas?

Thank you for your help!

The file you are trying to upload is too big to be transferred via FTP within the PHP time limit. You need to split the zip file into parts that are small enough that each part can be transferred in one PHP time slot. Usually we recommend 20 Mb, but that number can vary greatly depending on your server and connection speeds. I don't think this has anything to do with your PHP version change, it is more to do with the backup archive growing over time.

I did spot one large file that you're backing up that you probably don't need:
INFO |171013 09:30:31|Breaking step _before_ large file: <root>/webanalyze/pack_0b31222d5a96ab42acc87185b0f0cb81.tar - size: 13654397
That isn't really causing the problem, but it isn't helping either.

Thank you for your fast reply! You are true, it seems to be an accident, that then I was changing the PHP version, the backup file was to big for transferring in one PHP time slot. Now it is working. Thank you so much for your help!
