Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Installed the last version of Akeeba Backup, ran the configuration Wizard.
Starting the backup shows no progress after entering the "database backup" step, progression indicator is stuck near 25%.
I had to stop Joomla by stopping the Apache server (I run locally on a PC machine using the XAMPP environment).
I tried to deinstall, reinstall Akeeba backup, I still get the same behaviour.

Thanks for any advice.

Stéphane,

You have tables for multiple sites in that database. I can't tell if you stopped it or if the host killed the job because it used too many resources. Please exclude the tables that are not used by the current site and try again.

It is easy to back up multiple sites at once, but when you go to restore, it is a nightmare to restore one without overwriting the others.

Dale,

Thanks for your comment; as this used to be a development database, I forgot to tick the database override checkbox when re-installing Joomla.
I got rid of the unused DB prefixes and could successfully do a backup.

Best regards.
