I have a site running on a cPanel based host here. It has a 2 GB memory allocation.
Every night the Akeeba uses up all memory, no matter that I've given a -c to the PHP command, with a php.ini with 'memory_limit = 64M'. It just uses all 2 GB of RAM.
I know that it needs RAM and disc to perform backup, but can't I limit it so that doesn't eat every thing?
I also know that during backup the site will be crippled, but this is beyong crippled.

Best regards Kenneth

Hello,

the backup successfully complete or it stalls?
What's the site of your database/filesystem?
During the CLI backup you should see a report in the console, telling you the actual memory usage.
Moreover can you please attach the log of the backup?
