Description of my issue: When attempting to upgrade Akeeba Backup from 5.2.5 to 5.3.1 via the Extension Update manager, I got the error "Invalid extension update" and the update failed.

I then upgraded Joomla to 3.7, and now I no longer see Akeeba Backup listed in the extensions requiring updating.

Can you advise me how to upgrade?

Go to the Joomla! Updater and clear the cache, then search for updates. That will usually bring back the missing update. If that doesn't work, you can always download the extension from our Downloads page and install if as if it was new. It will not overwrite your settings, etc.
