Description of my issue:
On a site I am building for my client, there appears to be an issue with the count quota and obsolete records to keep. For example, I have set a limit in the configuration: http://prntscr.com/equp82 However, the site is storing more backups than what I have listed, as you can see here: http://prntscr.com/equpy7

I saw there was a topic in your support forums about this from 2011: 'The number of backups can't be limited' However, the solution was to update to the latest version of Akeeba Backup, which I already have installed on my client's site.

Can you please look into this for me? Please let me know if you need any more information, thank you!

Shannon,

Your screen shots eliminated the most common cause of that problem - multiple backup profiles.

If you have multiple quota limits enabled, such as number of days and count quotas, that can confuse the quotas because one overrides the other causing unexpected results. Make sure "count" is the only one checked. Since this is a development site, has it been moved from one place to another? That will also confuse things.

Thank you so much for your reply! So based on what you have stated, I think I have found the issue and I wanted to confirm with you. Here is my Quota Management settings so far: http://prntscr.com/es27v9 I am thinking that the 'Enable maximum backup age quotas' being turned on or checked is overriding the 'count quota' settings. So, if I were to uncheck the 'Enable maximum backup age quotas' and remove the 20 days, this would resolve the issue?

Thank you!

dlb
Yes, as I recall, in that situation the Days overrides the Count. Let's uncheck the Days quota and see if that fixes it. The excess backups may not all be deleted at once. They need to be trimmed within the PHP time limits so it may take a couple of backups to get everything working right again.

Hi Dale,

I gave it a couple of days to test and make sure we have fixed the issue and it looks like this is resolved and the ticket can be closed. Thank you so much for your help!
