EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hello, I am experiencing some trouble with the fetch back to server feature.
It seems the fetch-back fails if the jpa is larger than a certain size.

I tested this for several websites. I had websites with jpa files below 100 MB, and they worked fine.
I also tested for two other websites of which jpa is over 600 MB. In both cases the fetch-backs were aborted after about 135 MB of the jpa was fetched back to the server -- in other words, the temp jpa files of cca 130 MB were created on the server and the fetch-backs were not completed.

I tested the pertaining Cpanels -- it is a dedicated server -- and the Cpanels did let me upload the full jpa files from my desktop.

Can you please advise how you think the problem could be resolved?

Hello,

I suspect you are hitting some server limit (file size or timeout).
As a rule of thumb, you should always set a part size while creating a backup. Can you please try to set a part size of 100Mb, upload to Amazon and then fetch back?
Is it working?

Danielle,

This has solved the problem, thank you very much.

The mouse-over tool-tip by the jpa part size field said that the in case I use post-processing, the recommended part size is 5 Mb or less. Would you recommend that I reduce the part size to 5 Mb, even-though the fetch-back now work with the 100 Mb part size setting?

Regards,
Tom

5 Mb is a very conservative value, that works on every server. Since your test with 100Mb was successful, you can keep such part size.
