Description of my issue:

Hello I just have a simple question. I have about 8 sites that I need to make joomla sites. I want to use akeeba to clone 1 site for all. Can this be done with this plugin ?

Absolutely! That was one of the original purposes for the software back when it started.

You would build your first site, install your standard extensions and make a backup. Then restore the backup to your target sites and customize the sites as necessary.
