EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: attempting my first backup I can't find in my docs and support mat'ls what the error is.

Please go to Configuration and set your Log level to "All information and debug" then try your backup again. The log will be much larger - and more informative. Please post the new log and we'll beat it into submission.

Hi, it's already set that way "ALL INFORMATION AND DEBUG"

dlb
Your backup is dying almost instantly, it has time to create the log file, but no information is written into it, not even the normal environment information.

Let's make sure you have a good install. Please download Akeeba Backup from our website, if you haven't already. Then install it twice, back to back, without doing anything else in between. Do not uninstall, that will cause you to lose all your settings and possibly your stored backup archives. This "install twice" trick usually works around a bug in the Joomla! installer where it fails to copy all of the files during an installation or update.

This is the error I get now after 2 back to back reinstalls without uninstalling per your direction. Thanks:

Couldn't write to the archive file; check the output directory permissions and make sure you have enough disk space available.[len=604030 / 1048576]

I did a successful backup on a normal website and it was fine. This is an enormous website and I believe I have exceeded the file sizes so you can close this ticket and thank you very much!

dlb
That is exactly what I thought from your error message. You just need to reduce the part size in Configuration and you'll be fine.

You're welcome!
