EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I try to restore a backup I've made in August 2016.
It awful I know but it's the best we've got. :-(

Kickstart Core made almost the complet process but stops always at the same place with always the exact same error message.
I've made a screenshot. Please have a look at the attachment.

I read the post with similar messages. I've checked the webspace. We only nedd about 15% of the space available.

I'm glad for any good hints.

Best regards

Bernd

Bernd,

Can you extract the archive with the eXtract Wizard from our Downloads page? That will tell us if the problem is your server or the archive.

Dear Dale,

thank you for your very very fast response at that late hour.

I downloaded the eXtract Wizard and tried to extract the Backup file.
It took a while because it is rather large (500MB)

But the file was extracted completely and correctly.

So this brings us to the the host, right?

Best regards

Bernd

What that proves is that we have a good backup. In a worst case scenario, we can upload the files via FTP. But that is too much like work.

On the first page of Kickstart, where you choose the archive to extract, there is a fine tuning section. You need to click the button to expand it. Put these settings in the timing fields:
Minimum execution time: 5
Maximum execution time: 3
Yes, the minimum is larger than the maximum, that is not an error. That will slow down kickstart and make it use the resources over a longer period of time. I think you overloaded the server and it threw the 500 error. Slowing it down may avoid that.

Hello,

we've solved the problem with using another host.
With the new provider Akeeba Backup worked great like we are used to it. :-)

Thanks for your help so we knew we had a good backup.
That was important to know.
And thanks for the hint how to slow down a server.

Have a good time

Bernd
