I am NOT using Akeeba Backup version 5.2.4 for this website!

Do you have a version of Akeeba Backup for Joomla 2.5.28?

I need to back up the files before transferring it to Joomla 3.5. Would I be able to use Akeeba to migrate Joomla 2.5.28 to 3.5?

Thanks,
Britt

Britt,

The last version of Akeeba backup to support the Joomla! 2.5 series was 4.7.4, available here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-backup/4-7-4.html.

Akeeba Backup will only back up and restore your site, it will not help you with conversion.

Hello,

I managed to extract all files with Kickstart.php. When I go back to "Restoration and Clean Up and click on View your sites front-end, it starts downloading index.php or kickstart!

It is doing the same when I am trying to login to the back-end!

Thanks!!!

Britt,

That's a server problem, it doesn't know what to do with index.php. First, replace your .htaccess file with the htaccess.txt file in the root of your site. That file is Joomla!'s standard file, we use it for a "known good" file. The .htaccess file can change your PHP version, which could cause this problem.
