EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Since two days I got an
HTTP ERROR 500
when I want to backup my site
http://xxx.xxx/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba
All other extentions are doing fine.
What goes wrong?
Thanks
Engelbert

Engelbert,

The 500 error really doesn't tell me anything. I need the backup log to see what is happening with the backup. Please zip it and attach it to the ticket. Thank you.

Thank you Dale for your fast reply.
But I have the same problem with your answer.
I use Akeeba since 2007 as a user. I know only when I pressed in
the Components Menue "Akeeba Backup" Akeeba started.
When I press now "Akeeba Backup" I got an HTTP ERROR 500
and the whole website is disapered.
For this reason I get not an backup log.
I attach two pictures.
Perhaps they show the problem better.
Thanks
Engelbert

That is what I needed! When you get the 500 error gives me a clue on how to fix it. I think this is a bad update. Please download Akeeba Backup from our Downloads page and install it twice, back to back, without doing anything else in between. Do not uninstall, that will cause you to lose your settings and possibly your stored backup archives. This "install twice" trick usually works around a bug in the Joomla! installer where it fails to copy all of the files during an installation or update.

Thank you very much.
I did what you adviced but it did not work out.
What else can I do to solve the Problem?
Thanks

Please check the server error log to see what is triggering the 500 error. The error message that you see if very generic but there is more information in the log file. The easiest way is to trigger the error then check the file. It is sorted in date order so the error will be at the bottom (or top, depending on how it is sorted).
