Dear Akeeba team,

I would like to store my backup file to a S3-compatible cloud service, but not to Amazon. In this specific case it's the German company "dunkel" (https://dunkel.de/Dunkel_Cloud). I have the cloud URL (end point), Access key and secret key. Could it be possible in one of the future updates of Akeeba to include S3-compatible services (in general, not just "dunkel")?

Thank you and kind regards
Marcel

Hello Marcel,

every cloud company has his own methods to interface with it. Saying "it's S3 compatible" does not mean that you can use the same post-processing engine; however, most of the storage providers support the WebDAV protocol.
Please take a look at your cloud documentation, if they have support for WebDAV, you can use it inside Akeeba Backup (further info here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/data-processing-engines.html#proc-webdav)
