i have the same problem like this unanswered post : #21153

I am in setcronjob.com, i have many sites configured with frontend backup and work fine, but this one not.
I have the same configuration in all sites.

The log of setcronjob say this :

200 No need to run: no failed backups or notifications were already sent.

The cron task try to start, and about 2-3 second return this.
No backup is create in the site.... No error returned....

Any idea ?

Hello,

the script you are running checks if there is any failed backup on your site, that won't create any backup.
If you want to create a backup you have to point your CRON to the backup view, not the check one.
Please take a look at the Scheduling information page within your Akeeba Backup installation, it will give you the correct path to use.

Hello,

i have read and copy/past the "url" to the scheduling information, just like the other sites :

http://thermoprestige-sa.ch/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=check&key=**secretkey**

That is this url called to execute the backup, and it is this one i have put in my cron task site.

I think there is a mistake in the url on the admin panel, because this is "view=check" and no "view=backup" that i have in other websites...

I have make a test now with changing this parameter in my url in my cron site and it work :)

Please remember that in the scheduling information page there are two tabs: one for the backup and one for the check. Double check the tab you are on, since they are very similar each other.
Anyway, I'm glad your issue is fixed.

Please install Akeeba Backup 5.2.4 twice in a row on your site, without uninstalling it before or in between. That URL is NOT consistent with Akeeba Backup 5.2.4. The URL should read something like http://..../index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=Backup&key=.... Note how the names of the view begins with an uppercase letter.

Also note that you give us a partial screenshot. For all I know you could have a Javascript error which prevents Joomla itself to render the page as tabs. In this case Joomla displays both tabs one after the other. The top half of the page will be the Backup tab's content, the bottom half of the page will be the Check tab's content. In this case if you simply scroll all the way down you'll see the Check's instructions, not the Backup's instructions. Please scroll the page slowly and see if you get two areas labeled "Front-end Backup Feature" on the page.

I have one more suspicion. Try setting the backend language to English when logging in. Does that fix the problem? If it does please let us know. We've seen some issues with Joomla and French translations before. If that's the case we can try to work around it.

Hello, you'r right !

I have all the informations on the same page :)

If i put in english, all is OK, url too.

I have the same problem with Admin Tool. In english OK, in French all on the same page.

I am sur i have a site with the same problem but i have to search wich.

Thank you for the report, now this makes more sense.
Sadly the "broken tab" issue is caused by Joomla: we are using the code provided by Joomla to create and render the tabs, however it fails to handle the French language. I know this is a bummer, but that's something we can't fix :(
