EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have been having what seems to be a lot of PHP issues. I have several sites that I have been updating the PHP. Sites where Akeeba was seemingly working fine until I updated the PHP. Once updating PHP, it will not do a full update.

I currently have 2-3 sites with issues. and each is different.

Attached is the log file for the newest one. I get an error of Akeeba\Engine\Dump\Base :: Database Error: Could not connect to MySQL

I had a clean backup file before the PHP update, I update and then try to back up and automatically receive this error. I assumed that maybe I needed to reconfigure, yet that didn't help either...

Can you help?

FYI - I just updated to Akeeba 5.2.4 and still have the same issue.

Akeeba Backup supports PHP versions 5.4.0 to 7.1-RC3 inclusive. However, not all database connection types are compatible with all PHP versions. Please go to your site's Global Configuration and set the Database Type to MySQLi (note the "i" at the end!). Click on Save & Close. Upgrade PHP and you're done.

I checked and it is already set to the setting you asked for. Please see attached to verify. and the PHP update had already been updated.

I didn't really do anything, but I tried an update one more time and...it worked this time...Oh well. Thanks for your time

I just realised that you have set up additional databases. If you get the same issue you will need to go to the Multiple Database Inclusion feature and edit each database. Change the connection settings from driver type MySQL to driver type MySQLi.

I believe that the site where you didn't have a problem does not have additional databases set up to be backed up. Am I correct in this assumption?
