EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: I get warnings about restoration issues (attached pdf) after a backup. This happened recently after an Akeeba Backup component update (I had added no additional content to the site.) I would appreciate your help with this and recommendations of what I can do to do to solve it. I REALLY need to know that I can restore the site if necessary! Thank you.

What the warning tells you is that you have a large amount of data in a single cell in your database. Generally you can restore that data to the same server, it let you put the data there in the first place, it will let you restore it. But if you restore to another server or host, with different MySQL settings, that large amount of data could be a problem.

The only way to KNOW if a backup will restore is to restore it. We strongly recommend that you test your backups on a regular basis to make sure everything works. You can set up a subdomain on most hosts that will let you do a test restore without affecting your live site. Paranoia is your friend. :-)

Thank you for your quick response!

I appreciate the information and am relieved to know that, as long as I use the same server, I'm not in immediate danger. I'm going to take your advice and try a test restore - I've done several successful real restores without any problems in the past.

I can't live without Akeeba Backup - it allows me to sleep at night!! Thank you!! (I'm breathing again now...)
