Description of my issue:

I am running an automatic schedule backup once a week for 3 sites hosted at the same cpanel. For 2 of them I get that the backup finished successfully. All 3 backups transfer the backup file to dropbox.

If I run the backup configuration from the joomla administrator the backup finishes successfully and the file is sent to dropbox. Only from the automatic schedule it doesn't finish. And the file is not sent to dropbox. It remains at the server.

I just talked with my hosting provider (hostgator)

The client has a shared account and at php the following settings cannot change

safe mode = Off (cannot adjust)
memory_limit = 256M (MAXIMUM)
max_execution_time = 30 (MAXIMUM in seconds)
max_input_time = 60 (MAXIMUM in seconds)
post_max_size = 64M (MAXIMUM)
upload_max_filesize = 64M (MAXIMUM)
enable_dl = Off (cannot adjust)

The above settings either CANNOT be changed or exceeded on Shared and Reseller accounts. These limits are set to prevent extremely high resource usage in shared environments. We have found that a majority of the PHP scripts will work within these limits, and the scripts that require more resources are best suited for a VPS or dedicated server.

Is there a way to make the cron process run faster? Why do I face the problem when I run the backup from the cron job and not from the joomla administrator?
