EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hello,
I run a backup of a site to a domain ARUBA.
I was forced to use the active mode, otherwise the backup is not ended.
The problem is when I try to restore the backup.
It stops with the message that I enclose.
The problem is due to the active mode of the backup?
How can I fix the problem?
Thanks for the help.

P.S. Obviously the title is wrong: the backup is NOT restored

It seems that you've run out of free disk space on the target site (where are you restoring to). Can you please check with your host that you have enough free space for the backup and the extracted site?

Nicholas Thank you for your answer.
The provider tells me that I have 300MB of space, the site is 50 MB, so it should not be a space problem.

According to the log file the backup is uploaded. Therefore we don't have a problem with the backup process. The extraction of the archive goes perfectly up to a point where your server responds that it cannot write to a file. If you have enough free disk space on that account the only explanation is that the problem occurs because of file permissions.

Are you restoring on top of another site? If you do, please try deleting all files and folders before restoring the backup.

If that didn't help, Kickstart has three different file write modes. I strongly recommend using the Hybrid mode which is designed for servers with challenging file/folder ownership and permissions. This is the default mode. You must enter your FTP information in Kickstart for that to work.

If you have already done so and you are receiving the error you told me about then I can guarantee that your problem is the lack of free space on your account. In this case you can try something simple. First, delete everything from that target site (files, folders, the backup archive, Kickstart). Do not upload the archive and Kickstart. Instead, extract the backup archive locally, e.g. using Akeeba eXtract Wizard. Upload all the extracted files to the target site. This should work because you are now not running out of disk space (the backup archive doesn't exist and doesn't use up free space!). Now visit http://www.example.com/installation/index.php where http://www.example.com is the URL to your site. This will let you restore your site.

Nicholas, thanks to the valuable help.
I lightened the website, following your directions.
They are therefore able to restore the site.
Thanks again.
