Description of my issue:

Hi, i am trying to update from Joomla 3.6.0 to 3.6.1 using Akeeba CMS update, but it keeps throwing a "Unexpected HTTP status 404" error when it attempts to download the package. If I click on the manual download link provided, " https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/releases/download/3.6.1/Joomla_3.6.1-Stable-Patch_Package.zip" it brings me to a 404 page on GitHub. Perhaps some setting is wrong in the installer?

Thank you!

Akeeba Staff
Hello Patrick,

Akeeba CMS Update is no longer maintained and it was discontinued in March, more info here:
https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/1662-software-availability-changes-march-2016.html
For your information, now Joomla is based on the code of CMS Update, so there's no need to use it anymore.
