EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

If I want to go in configuration(www.mydomain.de/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=Configuration) , I always get a 500er Sever Error.

Have you a Idea, what is the reassn?

dlb
In the Joomla! Global Configuration screens, please change Error reporting to "Development" and Debug to "Yes" then try to enter the Akeeba Backup Configuration screen again. Those settings will not fix the problem, we are looking for a better error message than 500.

If you get a different error, please post it here. You need to change the above settings back to their original values as soon as possible. The Development setting can throw PHP errors and warnings on your front end too.

I change de Debug to "Yes". But then I come no longer into the main menu from akeeba.
The error reporting has no errors displayed.

Then we will try something else.

Please download the Akeeba Backup extension and install it twice, back to back, without doing anything in between. If you have a partial installation, this trick will usually fix it. Do not uninstall Akeeba Backup, that will cause you to lose all of your settings and possibly your stored archives.

If that does not work, we need to look at the server error log to see if it will tell us more about the 500 error. The actual screen message does not tell us much, the real error is in the log file.

It brought nothing.

Where can I finde the error log?

dlb
You will have to ask your host about how to access the error log. Not all hosts make that available to customers. If your host has a FAQ screen, the answer may be there, it is a pretty common issue.
