Hello,

I'm wondering if it's possible to delete old log files? We have a site on one of our servers that has 1500 ~4 MB files that are .log files. It's taking up a significant portion of disk space and I'm hoping manually deleting them from the /html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup folder won't cause any issues. I understand I will lose those logs, but the backups are stored remotely and I'm assuming the backups can always be used even if there is no log associated to them.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Please advise.

The backup logs are only used to analyze any problems that occur with the backup. Deleting the log file takes away the ability to diagnose any problems with a specific backup archive. This is a capability that is very rarely needed. Normally if your backup fails, we can run a new backup and log to figure out what is happening. So there is no problem deleting the old log files.
