Description of my issue:

I am seeing the same two problems as in the referenced ticket: .htaccess update apparently doing nothing, and a screen updating WordPress URLs when we are not using WordPress.

I am submitting this as my config info is different from the referenced ticket, which might be useful to you. Also, this problem was not present in Akeeba 5.0.3.

Hello Peter,

I just run some tests and it seems that backup restoration is broken due to a packaging issue.
However you can still restore your backups, you have to manually delete the files installation/platform/steps.php and installation/platform/iniprocess.php
That should do the trick, a new version is expected to be released soon.
