EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Good Afternoon,

I am wanting to take a backup of my live website as I need to update Joomla 2.5 to 3.X. But while running the backup I got an 505 Ajax error code. I am wondering if I could some help solving this problem please. A zipped up version of the log file should be attached.

"Errors
Timeout while backing upError
There is already an issue with the backup engine saving its state. Please fix it before continuing.
Please try setting min execution time to 1, max execution time to 10 seconds (or if the PHP timeout is less than 10 seconds, use 75% of the PHP timeout), runtime bias 75%

Backup archive writing issuesError
Could not open archive file for append.
Please check if you have enough disk space, or if resources are being depleted or if you need to prevent system (Windows) backup and antivirus scanning while the backup takes place.

Post-processing engine and archive part sizeWarning
A post-processing engine is found, but no part size is set; this could lead to timeout issues
Set a part size inside backup profile configuration."

Hello,

did you try to apply the suggested solutions?
Namely, can you please try the following settings:

Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
Maximum execution time: 3 seconds
Runtime bias: 50%

Yes, minimum is greater than maximum, that not a typo. That will slow down the backup process, but it should complete.

HI Davide,

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried the settings you have posted above. Unfortunately I still received the Ajax 505 error code again.
I must admit I have not checked if we have enough disk space and i've been unable to find "set a part size".

mhm... I think you are using too many resources, so the server "gives up"; such exception is not correctly handled and finally the 505 error is thrown.
We can try to slow it down again, try with max execution 3, minimum execution 7, runtime bias 50%.
This is a very slow process, but it should work. If it's still failing, you should contact your host and ask more info about this error

Hi Davide,

Unfortunately, after trying max execution 3, minimum execution 7, runtime bias 50%, it still did not work. I received the same error.

So I contacted the hosts of the website who have only suggested that the issue could be a Windows Path problem. The website is hosted on a windows server if that could affect it in any way.

Kind Regards

Can you please paste the exact reply you got from the hosting? What you wrote doesn't make any sense, maybe you missed some words while writing it back here?
