I have a display problem of the Akeeba's quick icon into the admin home page. The notifications work but we don't see the icons.

Any idea on how to resolve this?

The Akeeba Backup Notification Module version is 3.7.7 and the Akeeba Backup Notification plugin is 1.0

Thanks,

Please disable the module. The module is designed for use in Joomla! 1.6 which lacks support for Quick Icon plugins (I wrote that functionality and donated it to Joomla! for version 1.7.0). Instead, make sure that you enable the Quick Icon - Akeeba Backup Notification plugin only.

That said, clicking on the backup entry under Maintenance (see this screenshot) does launch the one click backup. The URL of that entry should contain the phrase view=backup&autostart=1

If it doesn't you have a partially updated installation of Akeeba Backup. In this case please download Akeeba Backup Professional from our site and install it twice in a row, without uninstalling Akeeba Backup before or in between the installations. This works around a Joomla! bug which sometimes prevents all necessary files from being copied on update.

Thank you.

- I turned off the module into the Extensions manager
- the plugin is activated
- I logout and reconnect myself to the admin

and I still have the same issue. Everything work but no icon. The icon is important for me because I need my people who work on the website to see it clearly.

Any other idea?

Can you please send me a screenshot of the entire left-hand column of quick icons in your Joomla! installation?

All my icons are in the cpanel position

I will create you a super admin access if you want. Can you give me an email address where I can send the codes?

Thanks,

What you are showing me is not standard Joomla!. It is a third party extension displaying some icons, not the icons Joomla! itself is supposed to display in the left hand column. In fact, I can see that both icons Joomla! itself provides through Quick Icon plugins (Joomla! Update, Extensions Update) are NOT displayed.

This means that the module / template you are using on your site is not compatible with Joomla! since it doesn't integrate with a feature that was introduced with Joomla! 1.7.0, about four and a half years ago.

Please contact the developer of your third party template and ask them to update their module. It must run the Quick Icon plugins (plugin folder "quickicon") and render the returned icon definitions.

I regrettably have to remind you that we cannot provide support for third party software, especially when they are incompatible with core Joomla! features. For this reason I am closing this ticket and will not provide any further support. Please contact the developer of the misbehaving module: the fault is in their code, they are the only ones who can fix it.
