I have installed suggested php.ini
I have tried adding suggested .htaccess equivalent

The htaccess mod created a server misconfigured message so had to remove it.

No idea what to do now. Direct links, per documentation, seem to be awol on download page.

I have entered my Download ID in Options. No effect. I still get same php.ini message.

It installed on my Site Ground server but not on client's server in Hong Kong. http://www.dataplugs.com/
I made no mods to Site Ground server, e.g. no php.ini, same .htaccess on both servers.. Did not add Download ID etc. to Site Ground server site.

Extension installation is not part of our code, it's part of Joomla!. The error message you posted tells you what is wrong and how to fix it (set the upload_max_filesize and post_max_size on your server's php.ini file). Please go to Extensions, Manage, Warnings and click through the reported warnings for more information straight from the Joomla! documentation.

Furthermore, please refrain from asking support requests in the pre-sales category. This is NOT a pre-sales request, it's a support request for Akeeba Backup and must be filed in the Akeeba Backup category.
