I can't choose eu-west-1 (my old Standard, was synonym for Ireland) neither eu-central-1 (=Frankfurt, but it doesn't upload) in the akeeba Amazon S3 configuration? Did you change anything?

best regards

We haven't touched that code in months. You CAN select either option just fine. Our own site backs up to eu-west-1. In order to do that, use the following setting in configuration.

Post-processing engine: Upload to Amazon S3
Process each part immediately: unchecked (best performance)
Delete archives after processing: checked
Access and Secret Key: double check them!
Use SSL: checked; you may want to try unchecking it if your host has a very old OpenSSL version which doesn't play well with the new Amazon S3 certificates (they are now using SHA-256 signed certificates which REQUIRE both libcurl and PHP to be compiled against OpenSSL 1.1)
Amazon S3 Region: "EU (Ireland)" or "EU (Frankfurt)"
Signature method: "v4 (preferred for Amazon S3)" IMPORTANT: Frankfurt REQUIRES this setting!
Directory: Try using just / (a single forward slash) to make sure the upload goes through
Storage class: "No – Standard storage (Standard)"

These are the settings I'm using in all of my sites.

o.k. - thanx - I did a new folder with region Frankfurt, and yes it did work exactly and well as you described it.
But you have to wait a few minutes until amazon has installed/activated the new bucket/folder. Probably I was a little bit impatient - sorry for that!
