Description of my issue:
I updated my Akeeba to 4.5.3 but my admin panel always shows that I need to update to 4.5.3
If I run the update I get the errors as shown in the image.
The status summary says I have the latest version but akeeba keeps telling me that i need to update.

did you try to clear the cache inside the Extension Update page?

Yes, I have cleared the cache before and after the update every time.
I cleared the cache before again and it said i that have another update to 4.5.5
I ran the update and I still have the same issue.
My backups do seem to be working and they are uploading to S3 ok but I am a bit concerned if they will work if I need to use them sometime.

I downloaded the new 4.5.5 installation package, cleared the cache and uploaded the new package 3 times in a row and each time I get that same set of messages.
My control panel does say that I now have version 4.5.5 though.

The warning message is not a good thing...
Can you please try to enable the FTP Configuration Layer and try one more time?
If it still fails I'll have to connect to your site to run some tests.

After a long time mucking around with this, I decided to delete Akeeba and reinstall it.
Everthing seems to be working fine now.
