Since update to new Akeeba Backup version, cron server sends following information by mail:

After this, the backup seems to work as usual. "Backup job finished successfully after approximately 19 minutes
Peak memory usage: 15.32 Mb." Alice does not show any problems. Before update, this message was not shown. Bakup files did not change size or anything like this. File size is 8,8 GB, slightly growing.

We had to make a change in Akeeba Backup 4.5.1 to work around a bug in Joomla! 3.4.7 which prevented our CRON scripts from working. The downside is that you get this PHP Warning that you can safely ignore. Now that Joomla! 3.4.8 has been released we can revert this change. In the meantime just ignore this PHP Warning. It's nothing to worry about.
