I want to extract a backup which was taken with command line on a Linux server in the JPS format.

I first tried it with the Akeeba Extract Wizard, but it said that the backup format is not recognised. Then I used kickstart-pro-4.1.2 on the Linux server where the backup is from. It fails with the error that a character „)“ is not valid. Even if I activate the option to “ignore most errors”.

I used kickstart a half year ago without any problems, so there must be something in the recent backup that hinders me to extract it. But that’s a real nightmare! Why can’t kickstart handle such kind of exceptions? Is there another way to extract my backup? Please help me out!

Regards,
Reto

Hello Reto,

most likely there is a log file included inside your backup that is corrupting it.
Could you please attach the log of the backup you can't restore?

Hi Davide,

i'm not able to upload a file, tried it with two different browsers.
However how can I overcome the extract issue?

Regards,
Reto

I need to take a look at the file, in order to understand what happened and then supply a valid solution.
As suggested in the ticket notes, please zip the log. If it's still too big, please upload it somewhere (for example DropBox) and then paste here the link.

The file is 125K, I copied it to: http://restore.tvseen.ch/Cron_usr_php55_bin_php%20_home_tvseench_public_html_cli_akeeba-backup.php.txt

That's the output, I need the log file.
You can find it inside the Manage Backups page, in the row of the backup, there is a button named View log

I wonder, I never saw another log. Have a look at my printscreen...

Sadly this means that there is no log available :(
Since I can see you can still access your site, could you please take another backup and try again?
