Since version 4.5.0, the post-processing to FTP remote server seems to be unstable : as I looked into the backend, I found the green status logo instead of the blue one (cloud). The file had not been transfered completely. I tried to transfer it manually with the "transfer archive" button, it worked (for the same file) only sometimes, but mostly I got this error:

Upload of your archive failed.

Uploading /var/www/[...]/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-cdp22.net-20151222-024755.jpa has failed.

I cannot reproduce this issue on any of my Joomla installations with the Akeeba version 4.4.3 - this issue comes only in my 4.5.0 Akeeba installations.

The log file can be found at https://www.espacenumerique.eu/akeeba.cli_backup_to_ftp_issue.log

Any help? For the moment, I installed the 4.4.3 version again in order to backup my files without any problems.

Thank you!

After having upgraded to Joomla 3.4.7 I can reproduce an issue which has already been reported :

The command line backup stops working :

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/..../public_html/libraries/joomla/session/session.php on line 448

I replaced the file session.php withe the one from Joomla 3.4.6 and the backup process starts, but stops as well, with another error message:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function stat() on a non-object in /var/www/web2/htdocs/joomla3/libraries/joomla/database/driver/mysqli.php on line 202

Can you please fix this, because for the moment, I cannot make any other Backups with the version of Akeeba.

Thank you!

Sorry, I just read your message concerning the Joomla bug in version 3.4.7 - I suppose this will be fixed with the Akeeba Version 4.5.1

You can close this ticket.

Thank you for your reactivity!

Akeeba Staff
Hello Andrè,

In the morning of December 22nd, 2015 GMT it was made known that Joomla! 3.4.7 has a major bug which affects CLI scripts. The bug report and resolution history can be found in Joomla! issue #8755.

Unfortunately, this Joomla! bug affects the CLI scripts of all of our software, including Akeeba Backup, Admin Tools, Akeeba Ticket System etc.

Even though this is a Joomla! bug we are applying a workaround to all of our CLI scripts. During December 22nd and 23rd, 2015 (GMT timezone) we will be rolling out updated versions of our software which work around this major Joomla! bug. The new version numbers will be as follows:

  1. Akeeba Backup 4.5.1
  2. Admin Tools 3.6.8
  3. Akeeba Ticket System 2.0.4
  4. Akeeba CMS Update 1.2.3
  5. Akeeba Release System 3.0.3
  6. Akeeba DocImport 1.1.0
  7. Akeeba Subscriptions 5.0.2

We apologize for having to release new versions of our software so soon after the last release (in some cases less than 24 hours) but we could not reasonably anticipate this kind of major Joomla! bug that breaks basic functionality in CLI scripts.

Please note that in the interest of writing, testing and providing updates to all seven extensions in a timely manner we are closing this ticket and kindly request that you do not file a new one about this issue. We are already doing everything humanly possible to provide a workaround to this major Joomla! bug in a timely manner.
