EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

On our test site, I tried to restore a backup taken on 4.4.3 (newly installed). I got the error in the database restore:

Error restoring the database

SQL=CREATE DATABASE `DBNAME` CHARACTER SET `utf8`

An odd thing in the ANGIE restore process. It usually picks up the DB parameters (host name, databasse, etc), but this time it didn't.

I had 3 backups from 3 different days on 4.4.3, and all failed with the same error. I tried to restore from a 4.4.3 backup from the live site, and it failed with the same error.

You need to manually create the database prior to the restore, in most cases the restore process can not do that because it lacks the necessary permissions. That is the most common cause for that error.

Not the case here. Restoring a backup on an exisiting site. Can access the DB with the MySQL CLI.

In trying to get more detailed data for you, I reverted to Akeeba 4.4.2, did a backup, and it restored. I then installed 4.4.3 again, did a backup, and it also restored.

So not sure what happened, but it seems OK now.

Sometimes passwords with "other alphabet" characters will cause problems. My guess is that isn't it because you didn't change the database user password between tries. If it is working now, we probably won't be able to figure out what happened.

Fine. It's working, so I'm happy. It's puzzling, as I use it a lot to clone the test site. I also test each version. This is the first problem I've seen doing it.
