I tried:
- disabling my .htaccess by renaming it (htaccess.bak) - no effect
- disabling/enabling RewriteEngine from "On" to "Off" in .htaccess file - no effect
- cleared out browser cache
In a similar thread (1) you recommended purging 3rd party SEF urls as a solution. In my case Im using sh404 so I emptied out the sh404sef_urls table in phpmyadmin but it does not seem to help.
You also recommended making changes using htaccess using the htaccess Maker in Akeebabackup component but unfortunately I cant access backend either.
It looks like it might be a SEF (sh404) issue so I will contact them, but just wanted to check here first.
NOTE: mod_rewrite is enabled as shown in my phpinfo.php local file. The local dev server is using Apache 2.4
