Description of my issue: Backup Obsolete

Hello,

I bought the Akeeba Backup professional and have a joomla 2.5.19 with PHP 5.3.
I had a Akeeba installation and installed the compatible version with my platform. Then insert my Download ID.
I made several backups but when will restore only have available the last three marked Ok the others are marked as OBSOLETE.
I bought the Akeeba Backup Professional to have all available backups, however'm with this difficulty.
I am very upset and sincerely want my money back if it continues like this.
Please help me, because I need to solve this problem.

thank you

Pierre

Pierre,

Generally an Obsolete backup means that the database record of that backup still exists but the actual backup archive is no longer in the Output folder that you have defined. This is normal if you choose to use Akeeba's Quota Management features to automatically delete old backup archives.

It is not so clear if you have restored your site. That would cause the database records that support the Manage Backups page to be deleted back to the point when the backup was taken. I would expect that this would cause records to be missing, not marked as Obsolete.

In any case, if the actual backup archives still exist, you can use the Import Archives feature to get them to show in the Manage Backups page. You could also do this if you moved an archive to another medium for safekeeping and wanted to move it back to you website for some reason.

Dale,

In my case what happens is as follows:
Today I have three backups;
If I make another backup it automatically switches to the last obesoleto, ie I price the last backup and instead of ficare 4 backups it leaves only the 3 last as OK and passes the oldest of three to the status of obesoleto.

I want to keep all backups, since I have enough space for it.

Please help me.

thank you

No problem!

Go to Configuration, in the Quota Management section and uncheck the Enable Count Quota checkbox. That will turn off the quota management. Note that there are two other quota types there, but I do not think either of them is enabled. Note too that all quotas are per profile, so if you have multiple backup profiles, you will need to change each of them.

The backup archives that were already deleted by the quota management are gone. Unless you moved them to another place for storage, they can not be recovered.
