EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Hi.

I have been carrying out a number of updates across various websites. For reasons unkwown the update failed on one of my sites and now I am unable to access, or uninstall Akeeba Backup.

When I try to access the component from the admin console I receive the following error message:

Fatal error: Class 'F0FPlatform' not found in /home/sirevere/public_html/libraries/f0f/dispatcher/dispatcher.php on line 146

When I try to uninstall it I receive this message:
Fatal error: Class 'F0FDatabaseInstaller' not found in /home/sirevere/public_html/libraries/f0f/utils/installscript/installscript.php on line 413

I'd be grateful for any advice. Especially how to manually delete it, so I can do a fresh install.

Many thanks in advance.

You seem to have somehow removed some, but not all, files from the libraries/f0f (f-ZERO-f) directory of your site. This is a different directory to libraries/fof (f-OH-f). The former is shipped with our components, the latter is shipped with Joomla! itself.

There are two ways to fix that:
1. Try installing Akeeba Backup without uninstalling the component before.
2. Extract the latest Akeeba Backup installation archive and copy the contents of its "fof" directory into your site's libraries/f0f (f-ZERO-f) directory. Please be VERY careful not to override any files in your site's libraries/fof (f-OH-d) directory. Doing so would cause problems with Joomla! itself.

Hi Nicholas.

Thanks for the fast response.
I copied the files from the installation archive of fof to fresh f0f folder, then reinstalled Akeeba Backup. It worked perfectly! I have no idea what happened to the missing folders and files!?!

By the way, I've just moved over to the PRO version of Akeeba Backup and am really impressed by the extra features. Especially the options to backup to cloud services such as Amazon S3.

Keep up the excellent work!

Have a great weekend!

That makes two of us. It could be either a server filesystem fluke or Joomla! messing up during the upgrade. Both are rare but since both have happened to me –once each in the last ten years to be exact– I can't rule them out as impossible.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear that :) Thank you very much for your kind words!

Have a great weekend!
