EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I moved my site to the public_html folder on went live. However backup will not run because "Temp directory is the same as the site root." I tried to make the changes as noted in the article at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/warnings/q104.html. I used the second option.

When I tried to make the change in the backend at global configuration>server it would not allow me to save the change. The tmp folder exists there, but I cannot change the tmp path as instructed.

Thank you

Hello Bryant,

you have a permission issue on your server.
The easiest way to fix your problem is to set the configuration.php file permissions to 0777, then enable the FTP layer inside Joomla Global Configuration.
After that, please remember to change the permissions of the file to a safe value, like 0644.

Now you should be able to edit your Global Configuration and apply the fix suggested in the manual page.
