I have successfully set up Akeeba Professional with post processing going to DropBox - I only have one backup profile. When I click on Backup Now then the backup runs as expected and the Zip file is uploaded to DropBox. However when I run it from the Front End as a cron job it just seems to hang at the point where it is uploading the file to DropBox - see the screenshot of the Manage Backups screen where I ran the same job one hour apart - the first job is still trying to upload to DropBox - the process normally takes less than 5 minutes when done manually from the back end.

Thanks.

I am not familiar with your host, but many hosts kill a CRON job after x number of seconds. Siteground kills it after 90, HostGator kills it after 120. The duration of your two CRON jobs is about 90 seconds. Please check with your host to see if they are killing your CRON job. Some hosts will extend the time limit when requested, most will not for shared server plans. You can work around it by triggering your CRON job through webcron.com. It costs a fraction of a cent per CRON job.

The other possibility is that your chunk size is too large. In the Dropbox setup, try a chunk size of 5 Mb to see if that completes any better.

I think it is your host.
