Using Kickstart Pro 4.1.1

Angie (v 4.2.1) fails immediately on database restore with the following:

Unexpected token <

Warning: mysql_set_charset(): Error executing query in /home/calsail/testbackup/installation/framework/database/driver/mysql.php on line 385

Warning: mysql_set_charset(): Error executing query in /home/calsail/testbackup/installation/framework/database/driver/mysql.php on line 385

{"percent":0,"restored":0,"total":"174.86 Mb","eta":"\u2013\u2013\u2013","error":"","done":0}

I have tried this with several backup sets.

I recently configured backup to run as 3 profiles because of cron job time limits, but I have successfully restored since then.

At the point where you are getting your error Kickstart has finished and has handed off control to the installation script, so Kickstart isn't involved in this one.

Please upgrade to Akeeba Backup 4.2.3, released earlier today. Nicholas found that some versions of MySQL reported their versions incorrectly and as a result the restore script used the wrong character encoding.

You will need to do a new backup. If that isn't possible, don't panic, we can still beat it into submission.

Thanks. Will do. This is a test site, so deploying 4.2.3 and re-synching the test site with the live site will work for me.

Glad to hear there's a workaround in case I need to restore the main site.

petekuhn
That fixed it. Thanks.
