EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: the path I see on my site for admin tools is /staging/1/plugins/system/admintools/admintools which is different from your docs which state it as plugins/system/admintools/?

is it different from Admin tools pro or core is there anyway an install would by default create this extra admintools folder ?

I know I did not create this exta folder manually.

The extra admintools folder is a relic from a past upgrade. It is quite common and does not hurt anything.
