Description of my issue:

After upgrading to Akeeba Backup 4.2.1 I still have a notification " An updated version of Akeeba Backup (4.2.0) is available for installation." whenever I access the Akeeba Backup Component.

I have tried clearing cache, purge expired, hard refresh, components -> Joomla update -> clear cache and still the message remains.

Any suggestions how I could get rid of it?

The status summary reads:
"Akeeba Backup Professional 4.2.1 (2015-06-04)"

And still the message reads: "An updated version of Akeeba Backup (4.2.0) is available for installation."

Hello Marius,

this is just a cache issue: sometimes the it keeps displaying even after cleaning the cache.
Just wait a couple of days until the cache expires and your problem will go away.
